Shepherd's Pie

An English origin recipe: Shepherd's pie is a ground meat/chicken pie with a crust or topping of mashed potatoes. It's simple: easy to make & tasty for family to enjoy. The best part is the fluffy mashed potato topping!

Can it be made it advance? Yes! you can make it however we recommend to assemble and bake it before you plan to serve

Can we make it healthier? Yes! replace the mashed potato with mashed cauliflower.


100 gm Bellpepper (diced)

One Medium Onion (diced)

150 gm Sweet corns

100 gm Boiled peas

500gm Cooked minced meat

1 tbs Hot sauce

1 tbs Soya Sauce

800 gm Boiled Potatoes (cubes)

1 tbs Salt

1 tsp Black pepper (crushed)

50 gm Cream cheese

4 Tbs Butter/Cooking Oil

100gm Shredded mozzarella cheese


Preheat oven at 200℃

Mashed Potato

In a large pot, cover potatoes with water & add salt

Bring to boil & cook until soft. Drain & cut potatoes in cubes

Mash the potatoes until smooth. Mix 2 Tbs butter & 50 gm mozzarella cheese & 50 gm cream cheese and set aside

Minced Meat Mixture

In a pot, on medium heat add 2tbs butter; once oil is hot add onions & stir until translucent

Add the minced meat, mix it well & cook for another 10 minutes

Add bell pepper, peas & corns. Mix well & cook for 2-3minutes. Add sauce seasonings as per your liking & minced meat mixture is ready


In an oven safe dish, equally spread the minced meat mixture

Top it with a layer of mashed potatoes & Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top

Bake the Shepherd’s pie for 20 minutes. Broil if desired for 1-2 minutes. Pair it with boiled rice & enjoy..
